In the midst of our move to San Diego, I came across my old hard drives from my weddings back when I had just begun. Yes. WAY back in the day. 2008 actually was when I shot my very first wedding… (has it really only been 4 years??)
Sooo, I dug up the files from my first few sessions ever along with the very first wedding I had ever done. Eeek. I like to think I’ve improved. (no judging please!) But my brave friend Julie graciously allowed me to take the plunge into my career and shoot her gorgeous wedding – with absolutely no experience. NONE. I was terrified, but left knowing I’d found my love. Photography. I thought I’d post a few from their wedding– The rest is history.
One more note. Julie & Evan had 11 bridesmaids and 11 groomsmen!!! For real. Talk about trial by fire! 🙂
Hi Jamie. this post was just what I need to stumble on. A relative said I could shoot their engagement shots. They don’t want to pay for pictures really, so I’m thinking of offering their wedding too… we’ll see. It was just perfect to read that a friend let you shoot their wedding as your ‘trial’ run. Of course, your pictures are beautiful and i love them. and i’m now popping onto every single photographer blog i’ve heard of to get ideas for engagement. any tips for an amateur’s first run!? 🙂
