This was a wedding I absolutely could not wait to shoot. Jared and Jenny had it planned for August 1st of 2009 in the Japanese Gardens in Batavia, IL – my hometown! This area was where I grew up taking picnics with my family, having pictures for homecoming, and enjoying rollerblading adventures with my friend Rachel. It is an absolutely beautiful location – the only hangup…. it rained. Hard. Jenny and Jared could not have had better attitudes about it though, because while I would have turned into a nasty bridezilla (stress, tears and all), Jenny was absolutely amazing and no rainy day could have stolen her joy of getting married. She had such a sense of humor and laughed more than any other bride I’ve had… you could tell her and Jared were absolutely in love! So while the rain was frustrating, we worked around it and were able to still grab some great pictures in between rain showers!
- Jenny was smart and brought her tennis shoes because she knew it might be muddy with all the rain…. it was.
- I loved her bouquet. So simple yet elegant.
- One of my favorite ceremony pictures. They laughed throughout nearly the whole thing. It was amazing.
- He thought he got her good….
- But look who came out on top!
