Lauren and Cole booked me for their August 27th wedding last year.  They originally planned for a June wedding but pushed things back when they found out they were going to have a sweet little baby come February!  Lauren and I exchanged pregnancy stories via email and I was so looking forward to meeting her, Cole and their new little guy Barrett!  Usually I meet with my brides beforehand to get a chance to talk and get to know one another before the wedding, but this day was the first I got the chance to meet her due to the hustle and bustle of baby bearing 🙂  She was sooo wonderful to work with and so welcoming and kind to me.  We jumped right into the first look after I arrived!  Cole was one excited groom!

And then I got the chance to meet their little guy… Barrett… just a little over 6 month old!  Soooo adorable in his little tux!

After some time alone with the fam, we started up with some bridal party pictures in front of the church!

The church was beautiful… but Lauren even more so.  She looked stunning!

And then off we went…

The wedding was held in Lincoln, IL and their was a huge festival going on that day which blocked us from getting anywhere close to downtown.  We didn’t have too much time before the reception, but were able to find some pretty sweet spots right outside of the downtown area!

They brought Barrett in for the first dance- and I just might have gotten a little misty eyes with how sweet it was watching the three of them dance together.  Maybe I’m a little more of a sucker for families with little babies since I’ve had my baby girl… but oh my.  They were adorable.

And then it was party time.

Lauren and Cole…. thank you for allowing me to document your day!  You made me feel so welcome and gave me some incredible celebratin’ to capture.  I can’t wait until you see all the images!

Chase and Aja have been married over three years and had their little guy, Dash, about 16 months ago (see Dash as a newborn here)!  Their family is close friends of ours and Chase and my husband, Brandon, are cousins.  Their family is so much fun to photograph. For one, they LOVE pictures.  Even Chase is a great sport about them!  Two. They’re all just gorgeous and Dash could not have been more sweet and charming during our session.  Here are a few of my favorites…

Aja just opened a new Salon in Bloomington called Elevation so she brought the sweet purple chair in the picture above.  I got to take some photos of her place right after she opened and posted several on my business facebook page.  If you wanted details about that or just wanted to check out how it all came together, you can view her place here.

The one below is a fave….

Aja came stocked with essential hair supplies for the session…. for the babe.  Dash’s mohawk= adorable.

So I mentioned Dash was charming… he was also quite the flirt.  Obviously he gave Aja many kisses, but my little girl, Elyse, came along for the session as well and she just showered her with hugs, love and kisses.  She’s almost exactly the same size and just as blonde so it’s really cute to watch them love on each other… (in a second-cousin kind of way).

Chase, Aja, & Dash…   I love you guys.

Katie and Andy are getting married next May.  About two years ago, she had sent me a message saying how much she loved my work, and when she got engaged… I was going to photograph their wedding.  I love when brides are excited about my work and about their wedding photos.  So sure enough… I heard from her just shortly after her and Andy were engaged and it was one wedding I am so thrilled to be apart of!

I know Katie because she and I grew up only two houses away from each other in Batavia.  I am several years older than Katie, though, so when we got together to talk through wedding details it was so fun to see her all grown up and ready to be married!  And her and her fiance are just too cute for words… honestly, I loved getting to photograph them.  Here are a few of my favorites from our session.

Katie took us to a horse farm that she’s been riding at for the last 8 years.  There were sooo many sweet spots.

One of the first things I noticed after we began the session, was the gorgeous contrast of their eyes.  A bright teal and a rich green… yeah.  They looked amazing side-by-side!

After a quick outfit change, we headed to the backside of the property to get some use out their horse jumps!

Love.

Katie & Andy, you guys are amazing!!  So glad we got to do the engagement session and it makes me so much pumped for your wedding next May!

I wanted to post a few from another session I got to do in my hometown a couple weeks ago.  Jen, Bob, and their three adorable children, Amber, Alaina, and Ryan.  I had the opportunity to photograph Jen & her babes a couple years (before little Ryan came along) with her sister and high school friend of mine, Dawn, and her little one Bella.  I was thrilled to be able to document their whole family this time though!

Their little girls had oodles of energy and just loved to be tickled by their mom and dad.

And umm yes.  I fell in love with their little guy, Ryan and his adorable cheeks.

Thank you Jenn & Bob for allowing me to be apart of your beautiful family for the morning!  I hope your love your images!

It’s always fun when I get to photograph someone from my past.  This past weekend I got to do three sessions with people from my hometown (the other two coming soon!).  Cassie and I went to high school together in Batavia, IL and I honestly haven’t seen her since then… which has almost been 10 years… wow.   So when she contacted me about engagement pictures I will thrilled.  Here are just a few from her session with her fiance, Shane.  They’ll be getting married next May!

We hit up the local downtown for our first location.

Cassie and Shane met at work – their cubicles were right next to each other.

Sometimes I don’t have to do much directing… Cassie and Shane were that way.  It was so obvious they were crazy about each other and just so comfortable with one another.

I’m not sure what I love so much about the below picture… but I do.  I love it lots.

At this point in the session we had to take cover because a nasty storm was literally taking over the park.  It started raining – but we were still able to get this beautiful light under the archway.

Cassie and Shane…. oooh love you guys.  Thanks for coming to me and allowing me to photograph you… I can’t wait for you to see all the images!
