My husband and I know Hannah and Cedric really well and consider them some of our best friends. We met through the college group, Fuel, we’re apart of and have been close friends for about 2 years now. The two met when Hurricane Katrina brought Hannah up north from her New Orleans home to attend school at Illinois State. After dating a little over a year, the two were married in July of 2008. As I’m sure you can tell from the pictures, Hannah and Cedric have an absolute blast together. We had a great time getting some pictures for their new house before Cedric leaves for Army training late this February.

Maybe it’s because I’m pregnant that I’m truly in love with (and pay attention to) everyones baby bumps. Maternity pictures are probably some of my favorite sessions to shoot, and Amy and her husband Ted were awesome to work with. Ted and my husband Brandon knew each other a little through the ministry vine, but since our session, we’ve been able to get together as couples several times and I’ve loved getting to know Amy and her (now 4 month old) little girl Addison.

This was a wedding I absolutely could not wait to shoot.  Jared and Jenny had it planned for August 1st of 2009 in the Japanese Gardens in Batavia, IL – my hometown!  This area was where I grew up taking picnics with my family, having pictures for homecoming, and enjoying rollerblading adventures with my friend Rachel.  It is an absolutely beautiful location – the only hangup…. it rained.  Hard.  Jenny and Jared could not have had better attitudes about it though, because while I would have turned into a nasty bridezilla (stress, tears and all), Jenny was absolutely amazing and no rainy day could have stolen her joy of getting married.  She had such a sense of humor and laughed more than any other bride I’ve had… you could tell her and Jared were absolutely in love!  So while the rain was frustrating, we worked around it and were able to still grab some great pictures in between rain showers!

Matt and Becky contacted me about engagement pictures and we braved the cold January weather.  They met and fell in love while they were attending school at Northern Illinois University.  Becky’s brother is actually marrying a girl I went to high school with, which is how they came into contact with me.  They’re getting married August 28th, and here are a few of my favorites from their engagement session!

This was a wedding I had the chance to photograph at the end of August.  Abby is super laid back, as you might tell by her amazing pink flats, and their wedding just fully reflected both of their personalities!
