You know how there are those people who you don’t really know, but everything you do know, you just love.  That is Anne.  I’ve never gotten to know her well, but we were apart of the same church family for the year before our church began meeting weekly.  What I do know.  She’s generous.  Her home was a guest house for anybody and everybody that needed a place to stay.  Blessings for those who were in between homes, short stay visitors, you name it.  So obviously, I think the world of her.  She’s amazing.

She and her fiance Mike wanted a small and simple ceremony.  Just their pastor, his wife and them (well and me of course).  The simplicity of it made it even more beautiful.  I felt so privileged to be apart.

They held the ceremony at a park near her home.

I can’t even explain to you how beautiful their love is.  Their excitement for one another was contagious!  I choked up during the ceremony and especially after they were pronounced husband and wife!

Some of their first moments together included a playground…. such sweet memories made them hop up on the set and have a little fun.  Young at heart.  I love it.

Mike & Anne.  Thank you for the privilege of allowing me to be apart of your wedding ceremony.  You two are inspiring… an example of generosity, love and passion.  Keep swinging on swings, going down slides and laughing together.  Much love and happiness wished to you both.

Beautiful pictures – what a happy occasion!!

I got to know this sweet friend at a park this past year when our girls started playing together on the playground.  Her name is Tami, her husband Jesse, and her little girl is Emerson.  Her husband is in the military and was getting ready to head out on deployment.  She asked me to get some family pictures of them before he left… and let the cat out of the bag about a new surprise addition on it’s way too!

Emerson couldn’t have been more sweet during the session.  She was full of smiles for me!

The two below might be a couple of my favorites!

The announcement of her pregnancy was super exciting!  Especially knowing Jesse was going to be gone for nearly 8 months.  He’ll come back to a sweet new babe at home.  Love that.

    Jamie,
I have already said this numerous times but I can’t thank you enough for these beautiful pictures of my little family! You captured just the way I pictured and I will treasure these forever! Thank you so, so much!!

Since I moved out to San Diego last August, I’ve wanted to focus more on my babies and our church launch that is coming this upcoming October 2013.  I feel like the past 9 months have been a sabbatical of sorts, giving me much needed rest in more than just the physical sense of the word.  However, over the past couple months as life has begun to return to normal after making our big move and having our little boy, I have started getting anxious to get back to work in small quantities.  This is one session that I was so excited for.

Dean & Verenice met at ISU and shortly after Dean got a job at Hershey in West Virginia.  He moved out, continuing his relationship with Verenice at long distance.  They’re getting married this upcoming December in Texas, where her family is at!  I loved getting to know them more.  I knew Dean a little back in IL, but it was the first time I got to meet Verenice.  This is such a great couple and I’m so excited for the two of them and their upcoming marriage!

While we originally planned our session for IL, we ended up in Kentucky after finding out it was a lot closer to West Virginia.  I was visiting my parents, and honestly it worked out perfect because of all the beautiful areas nearby.  This location was at a forrest preserve called Black Acre I learned of from another photographer friend of mine, Emily Post.  (If you’re in the Louisville area, check out her beautiful work at www.emilypostimaginarium.com!)

Dean works for Hershey and Verenice had gotten an internship doing work with Hershey so they became the Hershey couple.  They brought some to snack on!  I told Dean I would accept my payment in Hershey candy  🙂

The light was beautiful.

Thank you Dean & Verenice for allowing me to photograph your cute selves.  Much love to you guys and your new life together!

  • YAYAYAYAY Verenice!!!!!!!! I love her!!!! These are great Jamie! Miss you loads

Nick and Mindy were one of my favorite couples from 2011.  They were married in downtown Peoria, IL and gave me tons of time for photographs (her sis is a fabulous photographer and friend so she knew how I like to roll 🙂

Oh how I loved their wedding…… *sigh*.  You can view it on my blog here!  Anyways, they live in LA so headed home after their wedding and I figured I’d never get to photograph their beautifulness again.  BUT behold… only a couple years later my family moves out to San Diego conveniently right as Mindy finds out she’s pregnant with an adorable and handsome (I’m only assuming he’ll be nothing but gorgeous!) little boy Noah!  While I’m currently not looking to expand my business here, I couldn’t resist photographing her adorable baby belly!   They came down to San Diego for the shoot and Mindy was glowing… definitely ready to have that little peanut but looking as gorgeous as ever!

I still swoon over this gorgeous light.  We first hit up some of the areas around Cornado for this shoot!

Something about pregnant ladies always makes me excited.  I feel like I get to glowing with them just knowing what an amazing time of life they’re about to step into.  Maybe it just makes me reminisce about my pregnancies and the wonder of delivering my two babes into the world.  I want to hear all about their pregnancy and birth plan and name choice.  I might have bombarded Mindy with all my questions… but I just love love love this time of life and get so excited for couples ready to share in it 🙂  A mommy bonding I feel!

The last portion of the session we wanted to do at the beach… her dress was perfect and these ended up being my favorite from the session!
